How to decorate outdoors for Christmas on a budget
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh!
This is one of my favorite songs ever for Christmas and one which I literally grew up with and I’m pretty sure you have too. Christmas is such a beautiful festival with so many heart warming gatherings at the end of a year and the start of a new one. There is food, music, dance, romance, a message of peace, and care. Amidst all that through beautiful decorations, we honor the Christmas festivities as we celebrate them.
Since Christmas is all about prosperity, care, and love and not being extravagant we will together in this blogpost look at some very cute and unique ideas on how to decorate outdoors for Christmas on a budget. Let us get started! ☃️
How to decorate outdoors for Christmas on a budget
In this blog post, we will specifically be looking at how we can through small simple things make beautiful outdoor Christmas decorations items for decorating our main entrance door, porch, balcony, and garden for Christmas.
The entrance of a house matters the most. As they say that the first impression is the last impression. So, the way you design your door will tell a lot about you and your style.
How can our Christmas decor ever be complete without the classic wreaths! They are simple yet add that majestic look to the entrance of the house.
This one here is made out of pine cones and fir tree which you can easily find and make one yourself at home.????
This one here is also made up of pine cones and my my isn’t it beautiful, simple, and elegant.
This one for sure has more elements in it but that only makes it more precise and adds to its color and beauty.
If you were to ask me which wreath for Christmas is my favorite then I would say this bell wreath here in the picture above. It is totally different from the usual pine cone wreaths we see. And the bells remind me of my favorite Christmas song “Jingle Bells”.????
The porch is also a very important area to decorate in our houses and man I have some beautiful and aesthetically pleasing Christmas porch decorating ideas.
Wooden log Reindeer
For me, Reindeers are a crucial element of Christmas just like the snowman and the jingle bells.
You can DIY make these Reindeers out of logs and a few branches of a tree.
With a basket of pine cones and fruits too.
You can also make a Christmas tree out of the branches of a tree next to the Reindeer. Isn’t it so amazing and unique? ????
Christmas log tree for Porch Wall
You can also make this DIY Christmas log tree at home and hang small signature Christmas ornaments like the Angel, stars, mini Christmas tree, metallic balls, and bells. This too is my absolute favorite piece of decoration.
If you have patio wooden furniture then you can simply put red checkered cushions on them and they will give those smooth Christmas look to them.
However, if you wish to take it a step further then you can decorate your wooden patio chairs with some small pine cones and fir tree branches with a hanging wooden Reindeer. O, Lord! I absolutely adore this cute Christmas look.
Highly recommended and you should definitely go for it.
These mini gift boxes decor in wooden crates are to die for and they look legit beautiful.
With some fir tree branches in the metal basket and a few gift boxes in it, the look is wholesome.
Stone acrylic paint art
To make your Christmas decor different from everyone in the neighborhood you can go for the stone art. Take your paint brushes out and them acrylic paints. You do not to be pro at this and make abstract art as well.
Apart from stones you can also paint glass or ceramic balls and hang them on the windows of your porch or maybe the staircase with fairy lights. It looks absolutely stunning and eye catching.
Pumpkin Christmas tree and Snowman
It is always a great idea to blend the two festivals and here we have our pumpkins from Halloween from which we have made our pumpkin snowman and pumpkin Christmas tree.
I absolutely love the idea. And the reason for it is because it does not snow in every part of the world but Christmas is celebrated across the globe so those who cannot make a snowman out of snow they can make their pumpkin man which is so adorable.
If you have a small porch then you can go for this simple look this Christmas with a small tree and a wooden barrel with a wooden box next to it. Christmas decor was never that simple and easy that too if you are on a tight budget and love Christmas just the way I do.
Mason jar porch roof
Mason jar lights whoever invented them is an absolute genius for sure. Look at them how beautiful they look hanging from a cart wheel. The look is going to amaze your friends and family when they come over for dinner this Christmas.
If You wish to go all out with the mason jar lights then you can hang them from the complete roof of your porch and they will not disappoint you at all. So you can go all crazy with them this Christmas.
The balcony of our house also comes in our outdoor decor and we will not miss out on it. I have some amazing unique ideas for you in store this year.
Isn’t it so simple yet graceful and lively? Sure it is!
Make some bows out of a red ribbon and tie them with some bells. You can also take knitted baskets from a thrift store and put pine cones and bows in them. You can also hang the baskets from the balcony or stick them on the corners.
Now, this Reindeer is giving off some high-end costly vibes however it is really simple to make and decorate if you have that craftsman in you. It can be kept on your balcony or your rooftop edge and it will look absolutely stunning to look at.
Mini hanging dolls
I love the idea of these mini hanging dolls which you can easily find at a local thrift store and hang it from your balcony. They look so adorable and cute since they are small they add so much definition to the look of your balcony.
Hanging stars and fairy lights
If you have wooden railings in your balcony then you can put LED fairy lights on them and with them hang these beautiful glittery stars. They will look so breathtaking when you will turn on those LED lights and the glitter on the stars will twinkle.
Who does not love lanterns? Of course, we all do. And hanging lanterns from the balcony looks so romantic on a Christmas eve and I’m sure you would not want to miss out on this one.
As you guys already know by now that I am absolutely obsessed with bells. So this wind chime is my absolute darling baby and luckily my room is next to the balcony where I hang this wind chime. The small bells with mini gifts and stars hanging from it. ????
The sound of it and when I watch it swaying with the wind is so therapeutic. Trust me on this one guys and you sure have to try this!
Seesaw hanging horses
It is not necessary that you hang them directly from your balcony what I did was that oops once again I added small bells to the see-saw and made them into a wind chime for my window. And once again it was a fantastic idea to do so. You guys should too try this idea out and go wild with that imagination of yours because the possibilities are endless.
DIY fairy light stars
Get some see-through stars with holes in them and some LED fairy lights from the thrift store. Put some fairy lights in the stars and tie them with the railings of your balcony.
They look absolutely magical and Christmas is all about lots of love with a bit of magic and jingle bells.
